The church of Nakskov is called Skt. Nicolai Kirke. The first brick church, built around 1240, is still a part of the existing church today. Construction of the present church building was started in the 1400’s and is in the Gothic style. The church spire is 40 meters tall and from 1906. The vicarage is located in Præstestræde 4 and was constructed in 1923 by the architect Ejnar Ørnsholt. West of the church lies Køllestræde (tr. literarly Cludgeon Lane, but in this case it refers to a family name) the towns smallest street named after Mrs. Kølle.
